SMC'S ELITE PARTNER MANAGED SERVICES PROGRAM
SMC TigerAccess Managed Services
Key Features
SMC Service Portal
The SMC Managed Services portal is accessible to authorized users of SMC Managed
Services. The portal can be reached via any standard browser using a Secure Socket
Layer protocol. Authenticated login determines the machines and services functionality
that the user of the services is entitled too. Successful login to the portal provides
access to an SMC provided NOC which can be used for visually monitoring multiple
devices and networks simultaneously. The portal is also used for scheduling several
tasks (such as Patch Management and Script execution) to be executed at the customer
site on the SMC MSP Platform and/or SMC Agent based managed machines.
SMC Administrators as well as VAR and Customer Administrators have access to
the portal, for complete collaboration and support of the services.
SMC Service NOC
The SMC NOC is accessible via the Portal and is customizable to meet the needs of any
individual user or company. It provides instant visibility to issues (alarms) associated
with any of the devices being monitored and or managed. VARs have visibility through to
the MSP Platform level across all of their customers; whereas customers only have
visibility to their own machines. The NOC roles up problems into a visual alarm and
can be used to drill down instantly on specific problems within a given customer, a
specific location and machine or network. Alarms persist (visually) until closed and
a complete history of alarms under any category is maintained to see previous occurrences
of issues. SMC MSP Tickets can be created directly from the NOC window on any specific
alarm if so desired.
SMC Service Platform
The SMC Service Platform is the core device at the customer location responsible for managing and monitoring the devices and networks. This is supplemented by SMC agents. The SMC Service Platform is continually updated with the latest SMC Tool Kits/ Switch Firmware and SMC provided scripts in an automated fashion. In the same way the VAR can distribute their own Toolkits and scripts in order to provide their own specialized value add. The platform directly connects outbound to the portal and "requests" tasks from the portal avoiding the need to open any inbound ports to the customer site.
SMC Service Agents
SMC Service Agents play a vital role in managing and monitoring system (PC/Server) level devices, providing the ability to manage/monitor and diagnose issues end to end throughout the network. These agents can be used to automate scripts tasked to that specific machine and help automate tasks across the entire network. Agents by default communicate outbound directly to the portal, or can be directed as part of the setup to communicate via the MSP platform (specific Port and IP address) to minimize any security risk profiles.
